Image to Favicon Converter

Already have a logo? The Image to Favicon Converter is the easiest way to generate a complete set of website icons from your existing branding assets. Simply upload your logo file (PNG, JPG, or SVG), and we'll automatically resize and format it for every platform—from the tiny bookmark bar to the high-res iOS home screen.

Supported Formats

  • PNG (Recommended): Preserves transparency, ensuring your icon isn't inside a white box unless you want it to be.
  • JPG/JPEG: Great for photographic icons or logos with solid backgrounds.
  • SVG: Scalable Vector Graphics can be uploaded and rendered perfectly at any size.

Why Convert Online?

  • No Software Needed: Avoid launching Photoshop or GIMP just to resize a file to 16x16.
  • Standard Compliance: Generating a standard .ico file requires specific encoding that most basic image editors don't do by default.
  • Privacy First: Your logo never leaves your computer. All processing is done in the browser via JavaScript.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Upload Logo: Click the upload area or drag and drop your file. For best results, use a square image at least 512x512 pixels.
  2. Adjust Shape: You can optionally add a "squircle" (rounded square) or circle mask to your uploaded image to make it app-store ready.
  3. Verify Scaling: Look at the master canvas. Our tool automatically centers your image. If it has transparency, it will be preserved.
  4. Get Code: Click Download to get your files and the HTML code snippet to paste into your website's `` section.

Pro Tips

Should I use a transparent background?

For the main favicon.ico, transparent is usually best so it blends with light and dark browser themes. However, for apple-touch-icon (iOS), a solid background is required by Apple (black will be added if transparent). Our tool lets you choose a background color to fill the transparency if needed.
